When the Seahawks unveiled their new throwbacks back in July, the only gripe most people had was that Seattle planned to wear the retro threads just once this season — on Oct. 29 (that’s this Sunday) against the Browns.
Happily, the team’s number of 2023 throwback games has now doubled, because the Seahawks have announced that they’ll also turn back the clock for their Thursday-night game on Nov. 30 in Dallas — a rare case of an NFL team wearing throwbacks on the road (because the Cowboys, of course, will be wearing white at home).
Give the Seahawks credit for changing things up a bit this year. Just last week they went navy over grey at home, instead of their usual mono-navy look, and a few weeks ago they wore white at home for the first time ever, becoming the final current NFL team to do so.
This week’s throwback game against the Browns is set to kick off at 4pm Eastern.
Thank you, Seahawks!
Make these permanent!
was ridiculous to only have these beauties scheduled once this year.
For those of us who don’t want to waste our money on Amazon Prime for Thursday games, we will still only get to see their throwbacks once. Thanks a lot, Seahawks.
Record the 1am replay on NFL Network.
Cool, thanks.
Never should be throwbacks or alternates; it should be permanent.
Going to be a beautiful uni match up in Dallas!
I’ve got all my Hawks gear from the 90s ready to go for tomorrow! Zubaz pants will be chilly.
Whenever I see a Dallas-Seattle game on the schedule, I remember one time when ABC flashed the weekend’s scores on Monday Night Football in 1980. When the score came up (51-7), Howard Cosell uttered, in his slow gravitas, “And the Cowboys murdered Seattle.” I can still hear it.
These looked very good versus Cleveland and should be used permanently. I know they won their SB in the current set but looking at the stands yesterday the fans really love this uniform. Ans so do I.
