Golden State assistant coach Dejan Milojević died last Thursday after suffering a heart attack the previous day. The team’s game that night in Utah was postponed, as was their next game two nights later, a home date against Dallas.
The Warriors are finally returning to the court tonight, when they’ll host the Hawks, and their jerseys will have something new: a heart-shaped “DM” memorial patch, which they’ll wear for the rest of this season.
In addition, the same “DM” design will appear on the edge of the team’s home court:
It looks more like the team is memorializing some guy by the name Rakuten, and that the heart-shaped “DM” patch is a jersey advertiser promoting something for the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
No it doesn’t.
His memory is fighting for space there.
Read that the team wore t-shirts that read BRATE (brother in Serbian) and that players of the Mavs and the Rockets also wore that shirt. I think this is a touching and classy tribute. Great loss to the team and ofcourse to his family and friends.
