It’s Time for the Uni Watch Super Bowl LVIII Preview!

Posted in:

Don’t look now, but Super Bowl Sunday is just a few short days away, and that means it’s time for the annual (and my final) Uni Watch Super Bowl Preview! As usual, it features a slew of deep-cut uni-related storylines and subplots on this year’s big game, plus the annual slate of even deeper-cut Super Bowl uni data from Supe savant Jay Braiman. Clocking in at nearly 3,000 words, it has all the info you need to impress (or just annoy) your friends while watching the game on Sunday.

You can read the first part of the article here. In order to read the entire thing, you’ll need to become a paid subscriber to my Substack (which will also get you full access to my Substack archives). My thanks, as always, for your consideration and support!

Membership Update

A new batch of designs has been added to the membership card gallery. That includes Jonathan Safron’s new card — the first one to feature our 25th-anniversary logo on the back. Looks good!

The membership program will end when I step away from Uni Watch at the end of May, so move fast, or at least fast-ish, if you want to get on board. As always, you can sign up for your own custom-designed card here, you can see all the cards we’ve designed so far here (now more than 3,300 of them!), and you can see how we produce the cards here.

Raffle-O-Rama, Day 3

Today is the third consecutive day that Bob Andrews has generously sponsored a raffle. Today’s prize is another Uni Watch membership card.

This will be a one-day raffle. No entry restrictions. To enter, send an email to the raffle in-box by 8pm Eastern tonight. One entry per person. I’ll announce the winner tomorrow.

As for yesterday’s raffle, our winner is Mike Menner, who’s won himself a 25th-anniversary patch. Congrats to him, and my continued thanks to Bob Andrews for making all of this fun possible.

Too Good for the Ticker

What a sensational photo! Lots to process here, including the unbranded stick, the sensational sweater, the very unusual blocker design, and the short leg guards. Good mask, too!

(Major thanks to the great Wafflebored for this one.)

Can of the Day

A very simple, classy design, and I love that little illo of the coffee cup and the “Your own good taste” slogan on the side.

Wonder what it would look like for Jason Voorhees to wear the current style goalie masks on his killing sprees? LOL :)

I am surprised no one is doing a jersey number font a day countdown for Uni-Watch.

With all the times we have seen all the collabs and “the best player who wore 1 – 99” lists, I am surprised this isn’t a feature

I love the photo of the Polish national team goalie, especially the fact that he was at an outside stadium!
