Patriots are at the Jets, so it’s white over white at home.
The ESPN writer is more interested in what’s new instead of what’s best in his column.
Everything is an alt, and from past articles, there isn’t a trend he doesn’t like no matter how outrageous it is.
He lost me big time by including UTEP’s white numbers on a camo jersey this week. You can like that as a fashion choice, say if you’re wearing it on the street (I still don’t…YMMV). It is a massive fail as an on-field uniform though, because you’re not allowed to “sneak up” on your opponent, as the writer suggested. Contrast matters. Legibility matters.
The NCAA is like the Wild West in so many ways, including when it comes to uniforms. We need a new sheriff in town. And ESPN needs a uniform writer who understands the purpose of a uniform… like Paul or Phil.
I never stopped calling it the Weinermobile.
I doubt anyone stopped. It can’t be “back”, because it never really left.
The Spartans wearing those MAC helmets make me think they’re being relegated to…the MAC. I mean, why the hell not?
I would posit that the Arizona Cardinals also need to go back to their old uniforms . . . . say to the mid- to late-70s. The St. Louis white unis of that era, with the sleeve striping and shoulder TV numbers, were particularly classy. The home reds were also a simple, classic look.
Great news item about Bjørgvik-Holm! I wonder if another unique Danish-Norwegian letter “Æ” has ever appeared on a jersey, or if “AE” will always be considered close enough to need no substitutions.
(The letter “Å” traditionally got rendered as “AA” in other languages, but more recently that’s been discouraged. I wonder if it gets rendered more often these days as “Å,” “AA,” or merely as “A.”)
