- During last night’s Hall of Fame Game, officials were wearing “BL” patches on their caps in memory of longtime official Bill Leavy, who passed away in March. (From @footballzebras)
- Also in last night’s game, one of the Browns rookie QBs had a super long NOB! Former Tickerer Mike Chamernik asks, “Is it a record?”

- Stanford has mercifully done away with the black number outline on their uniforms. (From Connor Russell)

- The Cardiff Devils of Britain’s Elite Ice Hockey League have unveiled a new primary logo. (From Ben Isaacs)

NBA
- Lakers owner Jeanie Buss has confirmed that the team will retire LeBron James’s number when he retires. Of course, LeBron has worn both No. 23 and No. 6 during his time in LA, so which number’s going into the rafters? “That’s a discussion for another time,” according to Buss. (Thanks, Phil)

Was a nice looking HOF game last night. Thank God the Jets didn’t wear the stupid black pants, although I would have preferred the green britches with the white jersey, and the Browns in orange pants vs white.
Kraken really hit it with acknowledging the Metropolitans while retaining their own look.
Agreed, I’m excited to see the full jersey!
As a Gator fan, those black jerseys suck balls! Come on Florida. Can’t believe they have held out as long as they have to finally cave in. Especially after Napier was adamant about keeping the uniform looking “classy” last year (no crazy helmets/uni-combos).
The BFBS is almost as bad as those godawful green ones from 2017.
Those may have been the worst ever in college football.
This Florida alumni totally agrees. Florida is orange & blue, not black.
Jeanie Buss sounding like she’s planning another double number retirement ceremony like they did with Kobe’s 8 & 24, at this rate they’ll have no numbers left to play with
*laughs in New York Yankee*
Ugh, as a Gator, those Florida jerseys with the gold (why?) Jumpman are ass.
I don’t think it’s supposed to be gold. I think it’s just a mismatched shade of orange. Which might just make it worse.
So happy that the long-suffering fans in Las Vegas and Seattle get a Winter Classic game before the Columbus Blue Jackets… just kidding, the NHL took Columbus’s money and have just laughed and laughed and laughed as they screw them over. Y think they got to host the draft one year, though, so there’s that.
DTR’s been around for quite a while at UCLA.
Here he is wearing #1 for UCLA

Here he is wearing #7 for UCLA

Perhaps why he chose #17 with the Brownies? (Thornhill wears #1 and Mond wears #7). Maybe the next Brian Sipe???
