Typo alert: In the Soccer section about the Washington Pride: “They didn’t wear the for the first Pride game this season.” I believe the first “the” should be “them”?

no they don’t. For instance, the Cubs Alfonso Rivas started the season wearing #67 and then changed to #36 (said now that he made the team he wanted a “real” number). Players who get traded to a new team and their old number is in use by someone else often negotiate with the player a deal to change their number and give up their old number to the new player. Other times players are sent down and someone else has their old number and then when they are called up, they have to go get a new number (see the Cubs Ryan Theriot in 2006, he wore 3 different numbers 55, 3 and then 7).

I am putting my comment here because I am assuming this will be Phil’s last post for August. Thank you, Phil, for another year of taking over in August and providing Uni Watch reader’s with so much great content. You did a great job again.

I have to learn the difference between am and pm, there were several more posts from Phil after this one.
