Sporting Jax Unveils Inaugural Home Kit

Sporting Club Jacksonville, who will be known by their nickname “Sporting Jax,” are a brand new pair of teams, with the Women’s team set to begin play this season, while the Men’s club will begin play in 2026. The ladies will debut in the USL Super League, while the men will in the USL Championship.

Back in December 2023, the club officially unveiled their name, colors, crest and motto. The club’s color palette contains two shades of blue, along with yellow, orange and white — colors which were “suggested” by fans.

Yesterday, the team unveiled the home kit both the men’s and women’s teams will wear.

In a release, Sporting Jax “showcased the club’s first-ever home kit — a classic custom light blue jersey accented with adidas’ iconic three stripes in bold orange. The striking design reflects the energy of Jacksonville and the identity of Sporting JAX as it enters a new era in the USL. The 2025/2026 home kit will be worn across all levels of the club — including the USL League Two and USL W League teams, as well as the Sporting JAX Academy — unifying the club from top to bottom in both identity and ambition.”

Marketingspeak aside, the kit is a very pleasant shade of light blue, with the only color coming from the three stripes in yellow/orange on the jersey, shorts and socks, as well as the maker’s mark also being yellow/orange. The jerseys already have an advertiser, and that logo is in white. The badge is a slightly darker shade of blue, and that appears on the player’s left side.

The teams also unveiled keeper kits (unfortunately I haven’t been able to find a photo that shows the full kit), and those jerseys are red with a gradient white dot pattern (for lack of a better descriptor):

The new kit was modeled by players from the club’s USL W League and League Two teams, and some still shots from the video give additional looks. Apologies for the poor resolution.

The club says the stripes/wordmark are orange, but it feels closer to a yellow-gold to me. Note how the badge appears to blend into the jersey, since the colors of both are quite similar.

We caught an ever-so-fleeting glimpse of the rear of the jersey. It shows white numbers and (for now) no NOB. One assumes the jerseys will have NOB once play officially begins.

And finally, these two screen grabs may give the best overall views of the new kits (and it also shows the crest looks better in different lighting). Hopefully it will always be this visible, but in some shots and some angles, it was difficult to make out.

Sporting JAX are set to play their first ever game, and it will be at home against DC Power FC on August 23, 2025. The regular season will run through May 16, 2026, with matches primarily held on weekends. The men will begin play in 2026.

Readers? Thoughts on the new, inaugural kits? Do you think these are too plain or is this a good foundational uniform upon which to build a long term brand? Do you think the road kits will be similarly plain or will they be a bit more adventerous?

    Nice colours.
What’s the storytelling behind the ridiculous team name? Oh, it’s “(the) name … will reflect the club’s mission to provide an equal playing field in the community and a “sporting chance” for the underserved and marginalized. The name will further elevate soccer, and sports overall, in Northeast Florida.”

Interested to see how the name “Sporting” will “elevate soccer, and sports overall, in Northeast Florida.”

These are fun. Better colors but worse name than the old Jacksonville Armada.

I really like the pastel colors of the uniforms, but they are hard to see under adverse circumstances. Beneath the lights things should look better.

Nice uniforms, very sunny and Florida in character and look. The marketing blabla can be safely ignored. Best part is the player in full uniform wearing flip flops: the ultimate soccer look, as seen outside millions of locker rooms around the world after a game. Beer and cigarette in hand complete the look.

I love the color scheme. Not sure I’ve seen that exact mix before (OKC is close). Beautiful logo.

Love the colors… but I really wish we would bring a little fun and creativity back to American soccer team names!

Oakland Roots: nailed it. Portland Hearts of Pine: just look at the response there. But your FCs, Sportings, Citys, Inters, Atleticos etc just seem pretentious in this country, with no relevant meaning or story they can tell.
