Since we’re in a bit of a period with relatively little uniform news, it’s time for a few more Uni Tweaks from the UW readership.

Today’s concepters are short on descriptions — and that’s OK — because the designs literally speak for themselves.
Today’s first two sets of concepts come from Joseph Abraham, who has suggested the following changes for the Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons.

The Cardinals and Falcons should adopt these designs rifht away, but for the Cards I prefer a solid red band on top of the socks instead of the 3 Niners stripes. The Bears design? Not a white helmet, never, please.
I might prefer a white facemask on the Cardinals’ helmet; otherwise the concept is quite nice. The Falcons concept is also nice. The Bears…..no. No white helmets.
I like the Cardinal and Falcon concepts. Glad he went with black helmet, black jersey and gray pants for the main home uniform. Same with the away with the gray pants. Love that. Reminds of the dirty bird days of yesteryear. Much prefer that over any of the red iterations, but it’s cool to appease those who love the red with some alternates from time to time. Wish the team would adopt this look.
Nice work. The Falcons are very mix and matchy. It may be too many combos. My preference would be that they commit to one primary helmet color. I think they should go red.
As a bird watcher, I don’t understand why no one updates the Cardinals logo. Their beak is not yellow. It is red or dark orange at most. The yellow is not found in any other part of their identity or uniform. I like the red mask to match the beak.
Thank you Bat Manuel regarding the Cardinal’s beak color! As a birder myself, this has always been a huge annoyance to me. I can’t remember where I saw it, or in what sport, but I think there is at least one team somewhere that has a red-beaked cardinal. Will have to search again. Again, thank you.
I need to do some more digging, but the Wesleyan Cardinals seem to be the lone team to use a red beaked cardinal…

A lot of these tweaks and straight up redesigns are complete no brainers imo.
I mean if the Islanders fan base could revolt and force a change from the Fisherman it can theoretically (and practically) be done.
That being said that was a pretty egregious example with the Fisherman aging surprisingly well as a modern classic.
The Cardinals should hire this guy today. An excellent improvement.
I’ve always preferred the old Falcons red on red set. I really like this version with the grey pants. The red over red with grey is great as is the red over black with grey too. Much better than what they’ve been wearing.
I’ve always thought the falcons need more red on their uniforms, and the cardinals need less.

Those would be great upgrades for Arizona and Atlanta
Arizona would undoubtedly be an upgrade, but it honestly falls a little short of greatness. The flag pattern is just too subtle, and would hardly be noticeable especially covered by numbers. move the numbers to the shoulders, and put the flag motif in a contrasting color, I think they’d have an instant top 5 uniform in the league.
Love the Falcons and Cardinals; unfortunately I don’t see them ever going back to something that isn’t gimmicky, maybe because neither franchise has a super strong identity historically, so there’s no real “classic era” for either to return to (the Cards traditional uniforms were always some of the plainest in the sport, and remember in my youth they looked like generic white uniforms off the shelf from a sporting goods store; the Falcons, on the other hand, vacillated between red helmets and black helmets and have never really carved out much of an identity except team that can’t decide it its primary color is black or red.)
$5 for Joseph Abraham to mock up a Miami Dolphins redesign for me please. GREAT job on those Cardinals and Falcons mock ups.
Both Cardinals and Falcons look awesome. I would ditch the black Cardinals mono but the rest is good. With the Falcons I like the modern Helmet logo with the more traditional uniform. I would use gray pants universally and I think red jerseys should be worn with red helmets and vice versa with black. The 2 colors don’t mix well in my opinion. The bears alternate orange helmet jersey is a winner.
It’s kind of crazy how the Falcons have gone through so many combinations of primary helmet, jersey, and pants colors during different eras.
1966-1970: red, black, white
1971-1977: red, red, white
1978-1989: red, red, gray
1990-2002: black, black, gray
2003-2019: black, red, white
2020-2024: black, black, white
The Falcons remind me of the Georgia Bulldogs unis.
Mark of the devil on the chest like in college, instead of the sleeve really turns the Falcons into the Bulldogs pretty quickly.
Yeah these falcons and cardinals concepts work really well. Modern takes on classic clean designs, I would just dump the carbinals black, i dont think they need a black uni, its a forced concept to me.
So the Cardinals uniforms didn’t have enough going on, and the Falcons have had too much? Why can’t we praise a team with just one contrasting color for simply getting it right from the start, and allow a team with two contrasting colors to embrace them both equally?

Those Cardinals uniforms look nice and timeless. I’ve always disliked how they (in recent years; not sure about now) have been putting a silly little logo above the name and number on the back, shoving the important stuff downward much like the new MLB templates do. Joseph’s designs get things back to normal.
And I kind of like the idea of the Bears in white helmets.
Love the tagline for the Falcons. It’s not hard at all.
Falcons mockup should have red pants, no grey. Keep the red/black/white theme.
The Cardinals uniforms look much better than the absolute trash they currently have. But I would like to see the red jersey with more on it, its too plain. The all white isn’t bad, looks better than the current white. Not sure how the rays on the sleeves will show up. The all black should be tossed. I’ve seen the Cardinals in all black enough and it should never happen again for any reason. I like the red pants with the white jersey. That’s the best look and should be the home outfit.
For the Falcons, I prefer the red helmet with the black jersey and white pants. Grey pants are good with the white jersey. I like the red jersey as an alternate and the black helmet as an alternate helmet. They need to implement this new wardrobe now. I don’t see a horrible look in this group.
