[Editor’s note: Welcome back to the return of “Collector’s Corner” to Uni Watch. Although no longer run by Brinke Guthrie, it has been ably resurrected by Chris Weir. Chris approached me about restarting CC, vowing to uphold the old look and style, but with one new twist: he will make each edition timely with what is going on currently in the sports world (i.e. rivalry games, big events, anniversary of events). Enjoy and please give Chris some feedback about the new (old) feature. — PH]

International hockey is all the rage right now so let’s strap on our skates and look at some international hockey items.
• We have to start off with the 1980 U.S. team and a Mike Eruzione Starting Lineup.
• This Ticket Stub from the 1976 game between the Blackhawks and the Soviets is fascinating. They clearly took a Chicago Bears logo and used it to represent the Russian team.
• This Team Canada Jacket doesn’t look like it would keep you warm but it does have five maple leafs.
• I can’t talk about hockey without bringing up a defunct team so here is a Button from the 1983 game between the Soviets and the North Stars.
• Not sure when this Finland National Team Iron On Decal was made but the cartoon hockey player is a nice touch.
• I have no idea what This is but it’s some sort of Finnish Hockey Stick basket.
• This 1980 West German Jersey definitely showed the Iron Curtain who had the upper hand in style.
• The Wembley Lions were a hockey team based out of London from 1934 to the 1960s and in 1955 they played the Swedish National team. Here is a Program from that game.
• We got the U.S., Canada, Sweden, and the Soviets on this Program from the 1976 Canada Cup.
• The Czech Republic is trying a rebrand to Czechia and hopefully they include these Hockey Jerseys with the medieval coat of arms.

1980 Tackla German hockey jersey is more like 1990.
I’m 99% sure that every hockey team at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville were outfitted in Tackla jerseys and breezers.
Wembley Lions playing on a frozen pool. I love that Bears logo for the Russians (not the Russian National Team or even the Vodka Mules, no: the Russians!).
In fact, the Hawks played Krylya Sovetov as part of Super Series 76

Krylya Sovetov played 4 NHL teams, including Chicago; CSKA Moskva played 4 others.
That Jagr Czech jersey is a beaut! It still irks me that Prague went with Czechia instead of the other nearby analogs of Czechland or Czechary, or just adopt the actual Czech name of the country, Czesko.
