Tonight on Monday Night Football, the Denver Broncos will officially wear their new white helmet and blue jersey for their game against the Browns. The Browns will be attired in orange/white/orange with striped white socks, which they announced last week.

If you’ve been following the Broncos and their uniform machinations over the past several months, you’ll know that announced a uniform schedule which includes wearing their gorgeous 1977 throwbacks twice, leaving their MNF tilt against the Browns as the only time this season Denver will pair the alternate white helmet and new blue jersey for the 2024 season.
But the Broncos are one of those teams that like to keep their fans (and uni aficionadoes) in suspense, not revealing their pants/hosiery selections for any given game until the day of the game. That was the case today, as I began writing this post before the Broncos announced their below-the-waist stylings.
The team actually has nine different options for a uniform combination using the white helmet and blue jersey. They could pair them with blue pants, white pants or orange pants, and likewise, those same three colors can be worn as hosiery. Prior to the announcement for their pants/hose, the team showed off a few possible combos.
When Paul reviewed the new uniform set back in April, he put together a graphic showing three of the nine possible combos:

Two of the pants/socks combos show a mono look (blue pants/socks, white pants/hose), while a third option shows orange pants and white socks. I hypothesized earlier the Broncos wouldn’t wear orange pants (with white socks) as that would basically match what the Browns will be wearing. I expected white/blue/blue/blue, but hoped for white/blue/blue/white, or even better, white/blue/white/blue. Interestingly, that last combo was teased by the Broncos in a Tweet yesterday.

Then, this morning, the team showed a player in white over mono-blue (which I predicted they would wear tonight):

As I learned, the Broncos will often tweet a photo of a player dressed in whatever helmet/jersey the team is wearing for their next game, but oftentimes that photo shows a combo the team does not end up wearing for that game. So when the team tweeted that pic white pants/blue socks yesterday, my hopes for a white/blue/white/blue combo (which I think is their best with that helmet/jersey) began to fade.
This past week, the team practiced in their new white helmets, giving us a look at the new lid, and in the process, actually giving us a taste of how the white helmet might look with both the white and orange jerseys.

While I prefer the Broncos in a navy blue helmet, I think the white helmet actually better shows off the details, especially the “stripe” (actually made up of tiny triangles). But that’s not necessarily a good thing.
Back when the alternate helmet/jersey was announced, Paul said the following about that combo:

Woof! The white helmet really ruins this one — a bad fit that just doesn’t feel like the Broncos at all.
I’m wont to agree with this. But the blue jerseys are actually the “best” at one thing. They show the sleeve caps in their “correct” colors.

The team has named its colors “Sunset Orange,” “Summit White,” and “Midnight Navy,” and the design “represents the sun rising and setting behind the mountain peak, and the dawn of a new day.” With the blue jersey, we can envision a snow capped mountaintop (white), with an orange sun setting behind it, while the blue serves as a dark shadow from the setting sun.
Or something like that.
I’ll need to see the uniforms in action, under the lights, to render a proper opinion, and I’ll likely have a review of this game at some point tomorrow.

So which combo will the Broncos be wearing tonight?
If the tweet from earlier this morning is indeed what they’ll wear (white/blue/blue/blue), as I believe, it’ll be a very blue heavy game.
This post will be updated if the Broncos unveil something besides white/blue/blue/blue.
If they are going to wear that white helmet, the white pants/blue socks would have been the way to go. May still be a decent looking game. Especially since the Browns are wearing their orange pants instead of going mono-white.
Navy jersey over white pants the better option.
Really want to see the Broncos do a navy/navy/orange/navy combo. That would look good and haven’t seen it yet.
As long as they don’t go with orange pants, this is a clean look either way. Better with white pants, if you ask me, but still nice with mono blue. I’d rather see the white helmet over the orange jersey and white pants or even mono orange, but whaddya gonna do?
It’s a point that’s been beaten to death at this point, but the white helmet just absolutely makes no sense for them. An alternate orange helmet would be so much better.
Wish the helmet decal had more color. Agreed the w/b/w would look best, but I’d try orange socks with it. Or maybe their old blue socks with the orange trim would look good too
W/B/W/B is the best option, but that doesn’t look like the Broncos. I don’t like it.
GUD has them in blueberry from neck down. woof.
Would have been funny to go white/orange/white/orange to be the exact opposite of the browns. Though with the alt helmet, can’t do that.
This trend of not including tv numbers makes the jersey look incomplete, like a high school jersey.
Agree, looks like the cheap replica jerseys on the racks of some discount retailer.
I can’t really understand why they dropped them, only things that make sense is it is cheaper for Nike to make them this way, lower cost to make, same retail cost for customers (let’s be real, new uniforms are about selling merch, not outfitting the teams). Other option is since Nike very much likes to keep their maker’s mark as conspicuous as possible, they like to leave plenty of room for it, their solution was to eliminate the tv numbers whenever things might get cluttered around their ad/maker’s mark.
Goofy aahhh helmet
At least the sleeve colors make sense here. Thought they had a frost blue color they were going to use?
I’m glad it’s blue over white instead of mono blue. I’m getting so sick of mono uniforms. Blue over orange would’ve been my favorite combo, but blue over white is fine. I’m still glad the Broncos run with orange jerseys as their primary home jersey. I wish the Texans would switch to red jerseys over blue.
White logo on white helmet doesn’t work, they should have come up with an alt logo of a blue horse with white trim.
This uniform would be so much better with orange face mask, pants or socks. What they’re wearing is the worst combo instead. Yuck
Awful. Just bleeping awful.
If they win I don’t give a $hit.
They won and they looked great doing it.
These are lame. Other than the logo, they just don’t look like the Broncos to me. I’m okay conceptually with Denver wearing white hats, until I actually see it.
So many dumb little bells-and-whistles in this uniform, they remind me of the mid-2000s designs with gratuitous piping. The whole is less than the sum of its parts here, and it feels inauthentic.
The sleeve caps almost work, and are better on the blue jerseys than the others (because it actually looks like a mountain), but the giant swoosh looming over the peak ruins it by blowing out any sense of scale. Plus it looks too much like a lightning bolt for a team that plays in the same division as the Chargers.
I think white/blue/white with orange socks would be the way to go with these, but for me there’s no saving them. I was happy to hear that they were getting a uniform change, but whenever I actually see any of their new combinations, it seems like a downgrade from the “( )”.
Just wear the throwbacks all the time, get a matching white jersey, and maybe add the option for orange or royal pants. Update the details on the sneezing D-horse logo a bit, to bridge the gap. Enough with the random triangles, the zigzags, and the 5280 crap.
Generic is cool again?
Or lazy is still lazy?
Aaaanndd….it’s white/blue/blue/blue. zzzzzz. Oh well.
Go Boise State. -C.
What a missed opportunity to have a true Throwback game.
Broncos in their Throwbacks from this year
Browns in O/W/W/W(striped)
Two of the most classic games of the 80s…Elway vs Kosar
Well, they did plan their throwbacks pretty well: Raiders and Chiefs. Both of which will look like 77 (the actual throwback year) all over again.
Maybe they didn’t want the Brownies to remember The Fumble and The Drive.
I will say this about the Broncos and Texans jerseys. I’m really enjoying the smaller collar colors instead of the wide ass contrasting colors Nike went to about the time they took over the NFL unis.
The white hemet with that uni combo looks way off. Not a fan. The white helmet in gerenal just isn’t Denver.
The sleeve design isnt mountains or anything like it…its just a zoomed in section of the horse head logo
Lazy AF.
I actually liked the look. It was clean, and new. It’s our alternate, so it’s supposed to be different… (which seems to bother everyone here LoL).
I’d like to see the white helmet with the all white away uniforms. But, that might look way too different.
A new white helmet for an NFL team in 2024? How novel.
I thought they looked as meh as meh gets…
These uniforms are terrible. They look like a second rate WAC team playing on a Tuesday night on CBS SportsNetwork.
These uniforms are awful. They look like a second rate WAC team playing on a Tuesday night on CBS SportsNetwork.
White helmets, white jerseys, PERIOD.
Wearing blue from the neck down wasn’t as bad as I expected because the amount of orange in the Browns uni kind of helped highlight the orange in the Broncos set. So maybe they should only wear this combo against the Browns or Bengals. Otherwise, the blue jersey and blue socks should be paired with white pants.
There’s no redeeming that white helmet, though. That needs to go.
When I turned on the game, I wondered why the Chargers were hosting the Browns in the Broncos stadium.
Was going to comment along similar lines, too much like the Chargers’ alternates on TV
White pants would have been better.
But honestly watching the game I thought of how much much much better the game would have looked if Denver wore their far superior throwbacks.
Seeing them in action… they’re nice but they give me more of a UVA vibe than a Denver Broncos vibe. Even with their navy years, they are an orange-forward team and always should be. These are mostly white, then navy… with a little hint of orange.
