As you may be aware, Texas Tech changed uniform suppliers this past offseason, moving from Under Armour to adidas. The Red Raiders celebrated the “partnership” with some brand new uniforms for the 2024 season.
A couple months after that, the team unveiled another set of uniforms, designed by adidas, NFL Quarterback (and former Red Raider) Patrick Mahomes and the team, featuring Mahomes’ signature “Gladiator” logo — one of the first times in history that an athlete’s personal brand has been included in official on-field apparel.
The team will take that partnership one step further, when Texas Tech will wear all white uniforms for the team’s road game at Oklahoma State on Saturday at 3:30 pm (ET), with the uniforms having Mahomes’ “Gladiator” logo in place of the adidas mountain.
Naturally, the team unveiled the uniforms via video, showing wide receiver Caleb Douglas morphing from the gray Mahomes-branded uniform into the all-white one.

Here are a couple looks at the “new” uniform:
Mahomes, a Texas Tech alum, starred for the Red Raiders from 2014-2016, throwing for 11,252 yards and 93 touchdowns for his career before the Kansas City Chiefs selected him with the No. 10 pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
In the deal between the Red Raiders and adidas, part of the agreement included a 10-year partnership featuring Mahomes’ logo on co-branded apparel.
Mahomes responded to the Texas Tech video by posting three “icy” icons on Twitter.

While I’m not necessarily a fan or (nor opponent of) the PM branded logo on the T-Tech unis, I do love the uniform set that was introduced for this season. The stripes make all the difference.
We can probably expect the Mahomes logo to begin appearing on additional uniforms (though maybe not until next season).
Nice. And the pants have stripes. Hallelujah!!
You really have to look closely to fund the P and the M in that logo
I didn’t know Patrick Mahomes has a special Adidas logo. But if that’s his logo…it looks like the logo Adidas made for Tracy McGrady!
The uniforms are fine, I guess. The PM logo is dumb (GLADIATOR BRO), but that’s just where we are these days.
My thoughts exactly.
Since they already have the regular white, they should have just made a white version of the gray with Tech on it instead of Texas Tech.
So much for the old cliche that “there’s no ‘I’ in ‘team’.”
I’m generally not a fan of the idea that everyone has to have a personal “brand”, but I recognize that ship has sailed. However, I HATE the idea of elevating a player’s personal brand above – or even equal to – the team and the university.
Also, not for nothing, but in the world of athletes’ personal logos, that one really sucks.
