The Phoenix Suns have unveiled their new City Edition uniforms for 2024-25, returning to “The Valley” theme they’ve use for previous CE uniforms.
The team’s 2020-22 CE uniform was the first to feature the words The Valley, and their most recent CE uniform, unveiled last year, played off that theme by using the Spanish El Valle as their wordmark.
As always, the hype video (which does give some excellent views of the uniform, including the back)…

The uniforms feature “The Valley” in a western font, a nod to the lettering used on Suns jerseys in the 1970s
The uniforms are purple, featuring green, orange and black trim. Wordmark is in white, with an orange outline. Beneath the wordmark is the front uniform number, in white, with a green outline, and atop an orange star graphic. This, as well as other elements described below, are heavily influenced by the 1995 NBA All-Star game uniform, with that game played in Phoenix.
Additional features of the uniform are the “step pattern” graphic down the sides of the jersey and pants. This are directly from the ASG uniform and serve as a nod to the indigenous communities surrounding the Phoenix area.
The waistband of the uniforms is black, orange and green, and features a star and cactus — also borrowed directly from the 1995 ASG uniform.
Here’s how the team describes the new uniforms:
The Valley. It’s not just a destination, a point on a map, or even a reference of time. It’s an attitude, a way of life, a connection, a community, a bond.
The 2024-25 City Edition uniform is a celebration of Phoenix –past, present, and future – on the 30th anniversary of the 1995 NBA All-Star Game. The uniform that truly changed the game with a modern twist, representing the new age of basketball in the Valley.
Phoenix is an NBA All-Star host city like nowhere else. We celebrate 1975, 1995, 2009 All-Star games and look forward to the 2027 event coming to the desert.
There will also be a special City Edition court to be used when the CE uniforms are worn.
Even though I’m generally not a fan of sublimation, I loved — LOVED — the 1995 All Star Game uniforms, so naturally I’m partial to this uniform. Of course, there’s no need for every team to unveil a new City Edition uniform every year, but this one is one of the better ones. I have also always liked the team’s original “Western” font, so I’m happy to see it on this jersey.
The City Edition uniforms will be worn during 10 home games this season.
Your thoughts?
this is one of those rare hits of the yearly uni program. replace “The Valley” with “Phoenix” or “Suns” and that could be a cool full time uni
Agree 100%. It’s a rare case of liking the city edition more than the current set. Lose “The Valley” hokeyness and these are a winner.
Agree very much. These “The Valley”, “The City”, “The Town” are just so lame. But, this uni is pretty cool! I think it will look pretty good on the court. Maybe not as good as the Sixers CE unis though.
Phoenician weighing in.
Phoenix is nicknamed ‘The Valley of the Sun’, or ‘The Valley’ for short.
It is quite common to hear especially on News (TV, Radio, Internet).
“Highs across The Valley are 100+.”, “Valley residents are seeing an increase in x y z”, etc..
Definitely not a gimmick, but I can see how some may not like it.
Pardon me for seeming naive, but isn’t the indigenous step pattern considered cultural misappropriation? I’ve been called out for similar designs.
These are cool
Blech.
The pickup truck is better than the uniform.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! Another “The” jersey Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
Other than that, I think they are pretty sweet!
