UCF Football to Debut “Space Game” Uniforms This Saturday vs. Arizona

Back in September, the UCF Knights unveiled their eighth “Space Game” uniforms, and like their previous iterations, these are tremendous.

And while not BFBS or even Halloween-themed, the Knights are breaking them out on a weekend when several schools are doing the BFBS-for-Halloween thing.

If you didn’t click on the above link, here are a few photos of this year’s Space Game uniforms:

There is an incredible amount of effort that went into the uniform’s design (which also involves a good amount of storytelling — but these aren’t some “City Edition” NBA-type uniforms where the designers are creating them because the NBA insists on giving all teams a new uniform every year). So, if you need the details, please do refer back to the unveiling article.

In a cool move, the school has posted a video of how the uniforms should look on the field, via Madden:

I realize it’s not possible for all schools to include videos like this when uniforms are unveiled (as they likely hadn’t been added to the Madden game in time), but it’s definitely something that helps the viewer get a better feel for how the uniforms will look on the field.

I’m definitely excited to see these unis in action. The EA Sports video from above showed the team (correctly) playing Arizona. I haven’t seen the Wildcats unveil their combo for this game, but according to Madden, they’ll wear white/white/navy. We’ll see if this proves to be correct.

The Knights game versus Arizona is this Saturday, and will take place at 3:30 pm (ET) and be shown on FS1.

These space uniforms are always cool, I like all the details and its a cool look with the constellations and such on the sleeves, might not be super visible from afar when they are playing or on TV but I am a fan of them doing this yearly

The studio that creates College Football for EA Sports is based in Orlando, some local synergy for UCF.

Really would have liked to see more of that blue throughout the uniform.

I typically hate uniforms with color gradients, but I think this might look okay.

I also typically hate those sweatshirts that are supposed to look like stars in outer space. Usually they just look like they had white paint splattered on them. Connecting the dots on the constellation (and the well-positioned Orion) seems to be a good choice.

The thing on the leg is a little strange, but at least it’s not just blank.

The pattern on the legs is supposed to copy the same pattern that was on the Space Shuttle’s boosters.

The guy modeling it is tough.
Im not a fan of the team thus im intimidated
I am a fan of the team thus im hyped!

The marriage between scumbags and psychology has been fruitful. Move aside Oppenheimer.

I like every version of their space uniforms, including this one, but adding a little more blue would have been an improvement. But the details are again out of this world (bada boom). The pants stripe is really cool.
