The No. 6 ranked Miami Hurricanes will be dressed for the season this Saturday evening, when they take on ACC rival Florida State (7:00 ET, ESPN).
This past off-season, the Hurricanes unveiled an all-new BFBS uniform, which, as it turns out, is a pretty perfect Halloween costume uniform.
The team has asked for an Orange Out — requesting fans wear orange — while the team will be in all-black.

Here are some additional looks at the new uniform:
While Halloween isn’t until next Thursday, most NCAAFB teams will be playing their final game before the holiday this week and weekend. That means we’re sure to be treated to at least a few teams “celebrating” the holiday with special uniforms. My pal and our Sunday Morning Uni Watch correspondent Terry Duroncelet often refers to “spooky season,” and is generally in favor of teams wearing BFBS or other Halloween-related uniforms ahead of Halloween.
And while I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, the new black and orange uniforms are pretty much perfect for the holiday.
You guys know my feelings on BFBS and blackouts (as well as white outs), and in most cases I’m not in favor of this new trend. I am, however, much more receptive to teams wearing “Halloween colors,” especially in the week before October 31.
If we discount the BFBS aspect of this particular uniform — and judge it solely as a uniform — I happen to think this is one of the better ones. In fact, I think this uniform, as well as Tennessee’s BFBS alternate, are excellent uniforms. Yes it’s BFBS, but it’s still an attractive look.
Again, I’m not a fan of BFBS, but if you’re going to go BFBS, then at least make it look good. And the closer you wear it to Halloween, the better. Miami has that covered for Saturday night.

These are awesome. And I generally dislike 75 percent of the BFBS unis, although not to the extent you and some of your readers do.
Too bad Tennessee isn’t playing this weekend. They too could be wearing their Halloween unis and we’d all have a fit trying to figure out who wore it best. Anyway, this FSU getup looks great and I’ll try to tune in to see it in action.

I was ready to do the “U-G-L-Y” cheer, but these actually are sharp. The glossy, reflective black stripes and numbers trims really electrify the set. I may have to watch the first hour of the broadcast (7 ET) just to see if they really pop on field and the Orange Out crowd before I split time between and the Sunflower Showdown (Kansas at K-State) and World Series Game 2 starting at 8 ET.
