The Red Raiders of Texas Tech have unveiled a set of three new uniforms they’ll wear for the 2024-25 season: one white, one red, and one black. Last season, T-Tech’s uniforms were produced by Under Armour, but they have now switched to adidas.
Naturally, the uniforms were unveiled on social media via video:

However, unlike some of the more recent video unveils, this one was accompanied by several high quality photos. Let’s look at the three uniforms now. The uniforms were modeled by T-Tech players Kerwin Walton, Darrion Williams, and Chance McMillan.
RED
The red uniforms have an old school feel to them. Texas Tech is double-stacked across the chest, in white letters, outlined in black. Numbers are beneath the wordmark, also in white with black outlines. The collar features a white/red/white stripe that goes about 90% around, but leaves an open space at the bottom of the neck where the maker’s mark is prominently displayed. (The jerseys were like this under UA as well.)
The shorts are red with a large seven-stripe pattern in white/red/white/black/white/red/white. A large “TT” logo is on the left side of the shorts.
WHITE
The white uniforms are quite similar to the red. The white jersey looks almost identical to the red, save for the colors. Texas Tech is in red with black outlines, as is the front number. The collar striping is slightly different, with a black/red/black stripe pattern (which, again, leaves plenty of room for the maker’s mark).
The white shorts also have a seven-stripe pattern, this time in black/white/black/red/black/white/black. The Double-T logo is again on the left side, in red, outlined in black.
BLACK
The black uniform is also very similar to the red and white uniforms. It too features the double-stacked Texas Tech logo (in white, outlined in red), with the front number in white with red outline. The school did not provide a close up of the front of the jersey, but instead showed a rear view. We can probably safely assume the rear views of the red and white will follow this same pattern (with color swaps). The NOB is in white block letters, while the rear number is white with a red outline. Jersey collar has a red/black/red stripe pattern.
As with the red and white shorts, the black shorts also have a seven-stripe pattern (red/black/red/white/red/black/red) with a white TT logo outlined in red.
And how do the new uniforms compare to the previous set? Here’s a side by side.
As you can see, the new uniforms have some more simple elements, as well as some fancier touches. The previous white and red jerseys were basically color inverses, with “TEXAS” and “TECH” appearing both above and below the uniform number. They both featured solid stripes around the collar and arms, with side stripes stretching down to the shorts. Shorts also featured solid striping on the waistband, sides and hems, with the TT logo on the front of the shorts. The black jersey was different from the red and white, in that it had “RED RAIDERS” on a single line above the number, but was otherwise pretty much identical.
What do you guys think?
Interesting take. I actually prefer the look of “Texas” and “Tech” being above/below the number, sort of like we’ve seen some “State” teams do. I particularly like the change to the black set. Having an all black unit with “Red Raiders” (so little red) seemed silly to me. I really like the shorts’ stripe-o-rama look too. Almost looks old school somehow.
Just like Louisville, only a bit different striping. Pants and jersey’s don’t match. Same template – normal Adidas effort. My Alma Mater, Troy, is an Adidas school, cardinal and black, and probably will have same template. Kind of like a few years ago, most of the teams in the SunBelt were Adidas and except for maybe two exceptions, all used the same template and since most had some form of red and black as their color scheme, looked like a lot of intrasquad games. Troy, Southern Miss and South Alabama still have same pants template.
I prefer the Texas on top and the Tech below the number, in larger font, like before. Also, it makes the number more centered, instead of now it appears too low.
I think I prefer the above/below in a vacuum, as the double-stack looks off-center. But I really like this particular double-stack with the Ts that are taller than the rest of the letters, so no complaints. The stripes having a notch when the actual shorts don’t is my only other bug.
Couldn’t find a great picture except from a TTU sports hall of fame website (or can probably freeze frame that opening montage from the reveal video), but the double stacked Texas Tech wordmark is a throwback feature.

Yeah these are very similar to what was worn during the Bob Knight era
Definitely going for the old school look (a split between two eras) – hence the striping on the shorts mimicking the old school shorts which were always my favorite basketball shorts for any team. Hate that they are not actually made that way. That little colored triangle instead of a split is driving me nuts. And I have always hated that stacked Texas Tech with bigger Ts – it is still one of our university logos I think. Because of that I did like the splitting up Texas and Tech around the number better.
I much prefer this new uni set. It’s more cohesive (same wordmark across all three jerseys) and feels more on brand with the stacked T’s. Worst part for me is the collar striping going incomplete for the logo but not a deal breaker. I think red/white/black is a great color combo and they use it to perfection here.
What do I think?
Just another red white and black uniform.
I live thousands of miles from Texas and am completely ignorant on Texas colors but red black and white in Texas seems generic.
This is only college so I guess that’s a pass.
The inconsistency in striping between jersey and shorts is fashionable but jarring nonetheless. Otherwise these are decent and look better than UA’s efforts which were so-so at best. Too bad the Red Raider character is not featured on the waist band of the shorts. Or maybe it is but the players did not feel like tucking their shirts in.
