Back in June of this year, the Baltimore Ravens unveiled a brand new purple helmet, which they will be pairing with their Color Rush (CR) uniform.
I personally think it looks fantastic, and it is — unlike many of the alternate helmets we’ve seen introduced in the past couple seasons — absolutely perfect to pair with the CR uni.
At the time of the unveiling, the team announced they would wear the helmet for one game in 2024, but didn’t specify which game it would be worn.
Now we know.
The team has announced two alternate uniform dates — they’ll wear their popular (and another uniform I like very much) mono-black uniform for a Sunday Night contest against the Buffalo Bills on September 29th. They will debut their new purple helmet (with CR uniform) in a Thursday Night Football game versus their division rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals. That game will take place on November 7th.
Not only is the purple helmet new, when it debuts it will be the first time ever that the Ravens will wear a helmet that isn’t black. According to the Ravens,

Of all the new alternate helmets introduced this year, I think this one is my absolute favorite. The satin finish is sublime and will color-match perfectly with the Ravens’ CR uniform. I’m definitely looking forward to this game.

I could grow to like that helmet – but not that logo. Ugh.
Personally I think this logo is a noticeable improvement over their black helmet logo, but neither is great. It’s pretty rough to see a team called the ravens based in Baltimore struggle to come up with a decent logo. Most Baltimore based teams find some success with flag inspired imagery if nothing else. And a wicked looking bird should be a slam dunk to translate into a wicked looking logo.

I would love to see them switch to a purple helmet full time! Update the stripes and it would be fantastic. Although I’m not a mono fan. This one I’m looking forward to seeing. For BIG games, I get the mono-look. All the time????? Blah…..
I don’t like the logo, but I like the purple and metallic gold combination.
i’m in the minority in that i love that logo… it’s just a bit weird on a helmet. definitely more of a hat/shirt logo
