The Cincinnati Bengals introduced their white alternate helmet in 2022, and they have enjoyed nothing but success while wearing it with their White Bengal uniform. Since its introduction, the team is 4-0 while sporting the white helmet.
In its debut, a Week 4 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, the Bengals paired their new alternate hats with what was formerly their Color Rush uniform. While not technically a CR game, the Dolphins wore their aqua jerseys, pants and socks.
Following that successful debut, the Bengals again paired the white helmets and CR uniforms to defeat their division rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11. Again, while not technically a CR game, the Steelers broke out their all-black alternate uniforms for the game.
After successfully lobbying the NFL to permit the team to pair their white helmets with their regular white jerseys (technically a violation of the alt-helmet rules), they defeated the Los Angeles Rams. In that game, the Rams wore their all-blue uniforms and socks.
They wore their white hats and all-white uniforms one more time in 2023, in a Week 13 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, a contest they would win in overtime. Perhaps coincidentally, the Jaguars went mono-black, making all four games in which the Bengals wore their White Tiger uniforms matchups against teams who also went mono-color (from the neck down).
After wearing the alternate white helmets twice each in 2022 and 2023, the team has just announced they will only wear the White Bengal uniform once in 2024. That will be a Week 8 (October 27th) matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
They announced it on Social Media via video…
WHITE BENGAL IS BACK.

This will likely (though not definitely) be the first game in which the Bengals go White Tiger without their opponent also going mono. The Eagles did wear their mono-black jersey/pants/socks for one game last season (a Christmas Day tilt against the Giants), but since they had also introduced their glorious kelly green throwbacks last year, they had to wear their midnight green helmet with the all-black uniform (teams were only permitted to wear a maximum of two different color helmets in 2023, and they wore their kelly and midnight green helmets only). The team did not pair midnight green jerseys and pants last season, thankfully. I would expect the Eagles to wear midnight over white for this game.
Will the Bengals be able to extend their streak to 5-0 in the white helmets?
This news also means it’s very likely the Bengals will wear their orange alternate jerseys twice in 2024. The past two seasons, they were limited to just one game as the team wore the white helmets/White Bengal uniforms twice.
I know some of you do not like the White Bengal helmet (or the full uniform), but I think it’s a great look. Most “animal” teams may use said animal for a logo, but the Bengals take it up a notch, actually resembling the beast for which they are named.
What do you all think of the White Bengal alternate uniform?
Prefer the White Tiger look with the Color Rush jersey and pants due to the additional contrast from the block numbers and the lack of orange trim. Wouldn’t mind a revision where they removed all orange from the uniform and added bengal stripes to the socks.
I love the White Tiger look for the Bengals. I think it looks really good.
I love this look. This is the only team that should have a white alternate helmet in my opinion. It feels forced when other teams do it, in my opinion. The Browns throwback is an exception.
I’d like to see an white helmet for the Texans
Waiting for Burrow to throw a pass to someone while wearing these and suddenly realize it’s a referee in zebra stripes.
While I am normally against just having a white helmet to have one, the Bengals are my team that have an argument. The white Bengal tiger thing I can accept. There ya have it……. I actually approve of an all white uniform. Don’t expect this very often LOL :)
Looks great. Sorry they’re only going to wear it once this season.
If thats a snow game, it will be a classic
I can’t stand when teams wear alts and throwbacks against an opponent from the other conference.
Until the 17th game was added, it was a guarantee to see Eagles at Bengals once every eight years.
Why does that opportunity continuously get wasted on alts and throwbacks?
The Packers will wear the Winter Warning White against the Texans. WHY? We never see the traditional looks of those two teams paired up! Wear that crap against a divisional team. Rant over.
The white black uni combination for the Bengals needs to be retired and scrapped. It’s simply too dull and bland. The Bengals need to switch to block numbers like Green Bay has and wear orange socks more often.
Not a mono fan unless it is done like this. I like it.
The TV numbers on the shoulders look cramped- Better to go without. Otherwise, some really cool unis…
