You’ll recall last month the University of Hawai’i and Uni Watch partnered on a contest to design a special edition uniform for the Rainbow Wahine Basketball Program. The winner will receive a cash prize of $1,500, roundtrip airfare for one to Honolulu, and accommodations, for the basketball game slated for January 25, where the winning design will be worn and showcased to hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide.
We received over 100 entries, and we’ll look at some of those today. Although UH Athletics Staff, Players and Administrators will choose one winning design, readers are encouraged to discuss the submissions and to choose their favorite(s).
Over the next few days, I will run all the entries received (and in the order in which they were received).
This is Part IV.

So many nice designs, but for me the winner in this bunch (overall the strongest collection so far) is Matthew Harvey. Close second and third are Wendy Credo and Richard and Jelena. Too bad the men’s team is not in need of a new uniform. They could wear all of these entries.
Thank you! The design is based off of the Hawaiian state fish, the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a. I was born in Hawaii, so I really wanted to submit a design, but I struggle with stick figures, so I fluttered my eyelashes at my girlfriend a bit to recruit her help.
That’s brilliant! I also went to the reef for inspiration (my saddle wrasse design was in yesterday’s posting). Nicely done.
My compliments to Joshua Tokanaga for thinking outside the box.
I second this, this design is great. That lettering just works.
Lots of good designs today..Chad’s stands out for me as the best. He was able to incorporate a number of concepts and ideas without having it come across as overly busy. I like the lighter shade of green that he used.
Yeah, I’m leaning toward Chad’s, too. Points also to Joshua and the Bens (M&T)!
IMO, Matthew Harvey wins this round, with 2nd being a tossup between Chad Buley and Connor Krzoska.
Joshua and Chad both have incredible entries in this group!
