Atlanta Braves Unveil 2025 All-Star Game Logo

The 2025 MLB All-Star Game will be played next July in Atlanta, and yesterday, the Braves unveiled the logo for the game.

They began by holding a parade down Battery Avenue, featuring a host of Braves alumni. This was followed by an on-field pregame ceremony, where Larry “Chipper” Jones threw out the ceremonial first pitch to Marcell Ozuna. They also posted a video featuring Jones voiceover announcing the game, with a quick look at the logo at the end of the video.

As was noted in the video, the 2025 All-Star Game will mark the third time Atlanta will play host, with the other games coming in 1972 and again in 2000. The 1972 game was played at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, while the 2000 edition was played in Turner Field. So, the 2025 version will mark not only Atlanta’s third hosting of the event, but will be third different stadium (this one will be at Truist Field) in which an Atlanta ASG will be played.

Here’s a cleaner look at the logo:

You may recall there was a bit of a kerfuffle back in 2021, the year in which Atlanta was scheduled to host the ASG. They had been awarded the ’21 game back in 2019. But that game was moved from Truist Park to Denver’s Coors Field over objections to changes in Georgia’s voting rights laws. Denver had only three months to prepare for the newly moved ASG.

You may also recall that 2021 marked the first season in which MLB/Nike designed uniforms specifically designed to be worn in game, rather than simply special jerseys and caps to be worn during the home run derby and other non-ASG events. Those uniforms, um, left something to be desired.

Prior to then, All-Star Game workout jerseys and caps were usually designed specifically with the host city in mind. But the 2021 uniforms didn’t seem to reference Atlanta (or Colorado) in the least — although you could make an argument that the navy and red in the uniforms at least tangentially bore Braves’ colors. The same could be said for 2022, when the game was held in Dodger Stadium, and MLB/Nike gave us a white vs. anthracite game. By 2023 and 2024, the uniforms seemed to incorporate the location once again, with the 2023 uniforms evoking host city Seattle, and the 2024 uniforms attempting to tie into a Texas-type theme.

Most of us here are hoping the 2025 ASG will feature a return to teams wearing their “regular” uniforms for the game — a position that MLB Commish Rob Manfred says is open for discussion.

But if they don’t go back to the pre-2021 protocol, will the 2025 ASG unis reflect the game’s location? Let’s hope it is a moot point, and the special jerseys/caps will return to non-game activities, where they belong.

Wouldn’t the ’21 unis be a direct nod to the planned host city given the colors, or were they not the same shades of red/blue as atlanta uses? also what is a prexy

Yeah. Say no to “prexy.” I can’t put my finger on it, but that term bugs the hell out of me whenever I see it.

I’m with you on “prexy” being irritating, almost irrationally so. This isn’t a headline in a copy of Variety magazine from the 1940s, where space on a printed page is at a premium. It’s a freeform paragraph, take all the space you want.

Yes! That lettering is next level. I get that some of those letters come directly from the existing Atlanta wordmark, but dang, the lettering in the logo is gorgeous. Good stuff.

Those atrocious ASG clown suits! Maybe we’ll be back to real unis next year. One can hope anyway. And ‘Prexy’ doesn’t annoy me as much as ‘Natty’ which bros like to use when referring to a national championship.

Aside from “Prexy” being shorthand used out of nostalgia/quirkiness, it’s simply inaccurate here. Manfred’s title is Commissioner of Baseball.

Yes. Well aware — was trying to be clever. Probably didn’t work. But I (along with Paul) have used “Prexy” to stand in for President for decades. I’ll change it to Commish just to avoid any confusion.

One of the only other times I can recall seeing the term “prexy” was in a photo of Elvis signing autographs in 1956 or so (an election year), with signs reading “Presley for Prexy” in the background.

Does anybody think the red “American” and blue “National” jerseys in the video might be the 2025 All Star Jerseys? They certainly are the Braves’ colors. They seem kinda plain though, so maybe they are for the pre game festivities with the players wearing their actual team jerseys for the game (hope).

Since Colorado got stuck with unis meant for Atlanta, it’s only fair the 2025 unis have a Rocky Mountain flair.

Bring back the uniforms for the teams the players play for. Enough of the trash of the last few years. That’s what the fans want. And the networks should stop interviewing players why they are on the field during the game. Unnecessary and unprofessional. The all star game has lost a lot of it’s appeal in the last few years.

As a Braves fan, I’d hope the teams wear their regular uniforms for the actual game but the jerseys for the Home Run Derby, Futures Game and the Celebrity Softball be based on the uniforms worn by Hank Aaron when he set the home run record.
