Following up on their release of an all-black uniform a few weeks back, the Oregon Ducks unveiled the next of their “Generation O” uniforms for 2024. This one is in traditional school colors: green and yellow.
Let’s start with the obligatory hype video:

If these have a familiar look and feel, that’s intentional — they’re part of the “Generation O” series the Ducks will be wearing this fall. It’s expected the Ducks will introduce a total of five uniforms (or at least jerseys) to complete the Generation O lineup. This is the second uniform to be released this summer.
Let’s take a look.
As you can see, this model is a mono-green, and features design cues from the Ducks 1990’s uniforms. The first new/old feature is the return of the green helmet with the yellow “O” — I’m not sure it’s too early to call this helmet a “classic.” It replaces the wing pattern that has been on the helmets for more than a decade.
The jerseys are green, with a contrasting yellow collar featuring the O logo at the base. Numbers are yellow outlined in white (and in a block font).
Sleeve caps have small yellow stripes at the hems. On top of the shoulders are TV numbers in the same style as the front numbers, and the cartoon duck logo is on both of the sleeve caps.
The back of the jersey contains a nameplate, and NOB will be in a standard yellow block font. Numbers on back follow the same style as those on the front and shoulders.
The pants are also green and are stripeless.
The team has not yet stated when they’ll wear the “Gang Green” uniforms, but it is expected these will serve as their primary home uniform. Of course, Oregon being Oregon, they may wear this specific combination only once at home.
After years of seeing Oregon in various newfangled uniforms with bespoke fonts, these almost look out of place for the school. But with the new uniforms combined with a move to the B1G (notice the B1G logo on the jersey), we’ll probably become accustomed to them quickly.
As most of you know, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with the Oregon Ducks uniforms for a couple decades, but I definitely like these. My weekend editor, Jimmer Vilk, will often say “I love it when (insert school) looks like (insert school).” With the release of this green uniform, I think I’ll be able to use that phrase with the Ducks.
As for the other three yet to be revealed jerseys/uniforms, I feel confident in saying one of them will undoubtedly be yellow (and have a yellow helmet); I hope it’s in the same style as the new “Gang Green” uniform, so the team can mix and match the yellow and green elements. Few teams look better than Oregon when they go with a yellow/green/yellow combo.
We aren’t yet aware when the next of the Generation O uniforms will be released, but once they are, I’ll have the rundown.
Although I’m not in love with the Ducks going mono-anything, they pretty much own this mono-green look. And while I’m a big fan of pants stripes, Oregon has been going stripeless for quite some time now, so it doesn’t look out of place. This may be my favorite “new” uniform the team have unveiled in a long while. The block numbers are a nice harkback, and I’m pleased they’re going with a more “apple” green color than the darker shades they’ve generally used over the past 15 or so years.
Your thoughts?
That B1G logo will take some time to get used to — it just seems wrong
I am dumbfounded at the fact that the disintegration of one of the oldest and most prestigious conferences seems to have been received with little more than a shrug by America.
They were
A) Snobby
B) Mediocre
Soooooooo enormously true! The Conference of Champions…every time I heard that phrase it turned my stomach. There is a reason why most California talents fled their home state. The overall weak PAC-12 in football and basketball was the reason. They had been underperforming for decades. No wonder we just shrug at its demise.
I think the “conference of champions” refers to the total number of ncaa championships across all sports. Little debate on the conference’s record here:

Regarding the demise of the PAC, the conference brought this on itself in a way by insisting on playing night games, which come on too late in the East for anyone here to care about. If they had played more marquee games at 1:00 and 4:00 Pacific time, they would have gotten more TV exposure, better ratings, and thus a better TV deal, and that might have saved them. But I could be wrong.
Yeah, Minnyapples has it right in that the former conference’s championships are mainly in non-revenue/Olympic sports.
This isn’t news but… Its demise came not from football games played late at night (in fact, most marquee matchups were played in typical “primetime” slots anyway), but from a complete failure of leadership at the very top (i.e., commissioner and school presidents). They lacked the foresight, general understanding of their own standing, and apparently, the negotiating skills to prevent one sport from killing an entire Power conference in a matter of days.
The “last” Pac-12 commish, George Whatever-his-last-name-was, will have a hard time living that tenure down.
beautiful. the shades of green and yellow used are so sharp
One billion uniforms, 0 national championships. But it is great to see the trend of bright colors continuing to return.
I’m so glad the use of that dig’s days are numbered. So unoriginal.
But so true.
Love ‘em.
losing to the same team twice will somehow look even worse now
Interesting that the numbers don’t have the perforations. I definitely prefer it that way, I wish my Lions’ uniforms didn’t have the number perforations too
Since they don’t have stripes anywhere else on the uniform the stripeless pants don’t seem too out of place. I like the helmet, I like the block font but the duck on the shoulder looks out of place. Save that for a more throwback uniform.
Metallic green helmets are the best. I’ll be watching the Ducks and the NY Jets this year just for the hats
As a hardcore Duck – who sat through every scoreless second of the 1983 Civil War – I like these. However, I don’t think they are anything special (other than being in the actual school colors). IMHO, this uniform set is basically the 2015 Mariota Rose Bowl uniform with a better number font.
More Kermit vibes than Puddle vibes and I do not like mono. But the jersey and the helmet are very nice.
Gangrene you say?
More Duck dreck.
These would be excellent with gold pants. Or even white ones.
Yellow pants on these and then make them the primary.
Yes, this is what Oregon should be doing more often than not. I agree with others on yellow(gold) pants in place of mono green. But make no mistake, this is the Oregon Ducks and what their look should primarily look like. That is a top 10 uniform right there.
Have Oregon Ducks football EVER worn OLD Gold as a team color at any point in their history?
I happen to be a huge fan of Old Gold worn with Green. Given the penchant for numerous uniform combos every year, if ever any team should add Old Gold to Grren in their mix, it should be Oregon.
OBTW – Ditch the Green pants and the mono look. Gold or White SENSIBLY STRIPED pants with those Green jerseys would be a 2000% improvement
Nice to see a team like Oregon that has worn some many crazy looking unis in the last 20 years go back to something more traditional and cleaner. Love the gloss metallic green helmet and the block number font. Yellow pants with green and white stripes would make it even better. A yellow helmet would look awesome as well. It’s time to do away with the matt helmet in general it’s very overused and tired.
