Bruins going back to the 2010s logo and jerseys makes me a little upset. I loved the mashup logo they used last year, would have liked to see them keep that logo on the 2010s jersey design

100% agree. I actually would’ve liked to see the Centennial jerseys stay but in the traditional Bruins gold with the traditional shoulder patch replacing the centennial one. The Centennial spoked B now makes the 2010s spoked B look too busy now. And oh man, that off-white and brown alternate Centennial sweater was one of the greatest hockey sweaters ever.

The centennial logo was head and shoulders above the modern logo.

I agree with you on the Bruins. Coming out of the one-season uniform was the perfect time to transition to a new permanent look. They should have kept the Centennial logo as primary logo, but they needed to go back to proper Bruins’ yellow trim. This team needs to be back in yellow socks the way it should be.

They could have transitioned with keeping no different colour shoulder yokes like on the Centennial jersey. What I would have liked to see is transition to a modern version of 1980s to early 1990s uniforms.

I really hope the Bruins have plans to continue to wear an alternate jersey featuring original brown and yellow colours. Their alternate last year was great.

I have mixed feelings. I really didn’t like their centennial uniforms, especially that new gold color that just looked like colorless silver on TV. But at the same time, as a general principle, I don’t like it when teams go backwards into their history for “new” uniform designs.

I will say that I think this “new” Bruins jersey is better aesthetically than anything they wore last season. Maybe I’m just a little bored with it. 17 seasons without any substantial changes is a lot.

NHL jerseys easily have the best logo treatment/details of any of the big 4 sports

Why the Sabres stubbornly refuse to put a shoulder logo on there is beyond me. Sure, it wasn’t there in the 70s. But it was in the 80s onward on every single jersey, regardless of what identity they were using at the time. It just looks so lazy and bare now.

NHL realignment that needs to happen (because I say so and yes, I’m repeating this comment in all four posts today)…

    – Original 6: Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, NYR, Toronto
    – Expansion 6 (kinda): LA, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, SJ, St.L
    – Other 5 Canadian teams: Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Vancouver
    – Other Western teams: Anaheim, Colorado, Seattle, Utah, Vegas
    – Southern teams: Carolina, Dallas, Florida, Nashville, Tampa Bay
    – Teams that don’t fit nicely into the other categories: Washington, Buffalo, NYI, NJ, Columbus

The Original 6 and Expansion 6 (kinda) would always be in separate conferences to keep the numbers even but the other four would flip-flop every few years.

I still think it would be cool if they divided the conferences North and South instead of East and West. It would stoke some of the tension that already exists between traditional and non-traditional markets, and it would make travel more fair. (It would be a nightmare equally for everyone!)

Last one of these I’m posting today. You’re welcome.

As long as they don’t do what they did with MLB’s jerseys and and make the names on the back all the same small letters and generic fonts. While I find tradition to be ridiculously overrated in all sports, I would be disappointed if the Red Wings started having player names that look exactly like everyone else’s. I know there’s fans of other teams with similarly unique name templates (Avalanche, Blue Jackets, etc.) that would probably feel the same.
